• You’ve got a beautiful voice! My singing voice sounds like feeding time at the zoo! 🙂 haha
Question: Do you make up your own melody or is there some type of protocol? I’ve heard other people sing blessings and I was wondering about coming up with the melody in general really.

  • Thank you! I love to sing. 🙂 I modified the melody for the “messianic” shabbat candle blessing from a normal shabbat candle blessing melody. The other 3 are traditional melodies that the Jews use, even the English version of the HaMazon is very similar to the Hebrew version. For the most part the melodies are traditional, but from time to time the Jewish community comes up with a niggun and then inserts the prayers or blessings to fit it. Currently, I am working on the melodies for the Havdalah service as it is a new melody than what I already know. Until then I’ll move onto the Torah service and then siddur prayers.
